A group of students from Club1908 Feyenoord had the exciting opportunity to visit our PepsiCo headquarters in Utrecht and explore the fascinating world of a food and drinks company. During their visit, the children enjoyed a behind-the-scenes look and participated in engaging activities focused on learning, discovery, and creativity.
After a brief introduction to the various functions within PepsiCo, the children were divided into five smaller groups for a scavenger hunt. The aim was to navigate through the office, following a route that led them to different rooms where short and surprising challenges awaited. For example, the children used a decibel meter to measure the loudness of a Doritos crunch, solved a Cruesli packaging puzzle, and competed in a far-rolling competition with Snack-a-Jack packaging.
Every 10 minutes, the groups rotated to different spaces, providing them with a unique insight into the PepsiCo office environment. Products were displayed throughout the office, sparking curiosity among the children.
After a well-deserved lunch, the children gained insight into the development process of new Quaker Cruesli flavors. Guided by employees, they took on the role of product developers. Their assignment was to create a new Quaker Cruesli flavor and design matching packaging, with the requirement that the flavor should not contain sugar and the packaging should highlight the new Quaker range "Zero Sugar Added."
The creative results ranged from classic combinations like apple and banana to more surprising variants with ingredients such as Smarties and marshmallows. All taste ideas were collected by PepsiCo, and a jury will evaluate if any concepts are feasible.
Following the successful Quaker workshop, the children were given their self-designed packaging to take home, filled with a bag of Qauker Cruesli for breakfast the next morning.
